  • The IEEE Sensors Council (SC) Nominations and Appointments Committee requests nominations for qualified individuals to fill the SC officer positions listed below for the 2020-2021 term. Self nominations are allowed. The positions are as required by the SC rules for even year terms, as follows:

    • President-Elect
    • Vice-President for Technical Operations (2-year term, renewable once)
    • Vice-President for Conferences (2-year term, renewable once)
    • Senior Member-at-Large (2-year term)
    • Member-at-Large (2-year term)

    Here are some relevant texts from the SC Bylaws:

    Section 7: The AdCom shall elect the President-Elect, the Vice-President for Technical Operations, the Vice-President for Conferences, the Vice-President for Publications, and the Vice President for Finances from its current members or among those past members who have served as Society-appointed or ex-officio AdCom members within the previous three years. The AdCom shall elect the President-elect from its members who have served as Officers within the previous four years. If a candidate for President-elect cannot be found who meets this criterion, then candidates for President-elect may be chosen from the current Society-appointed members of AdCom or among those past members who have served as Society-appointed AdCom members within the previous three years.

    Section 8: Eligibility for a particular office shall be restored after a lapse from that office of one year. The President-elect, the Vice-President for Technical Operations, and the Vice-President for Conferences will be elected to begin their terms in even numbered years while the VicePresident for Finance and the Vice President for Publications will be elected to begin their terms in odd numbered years

    The elections proper will take place during the Council’s Administrative Committee (AdCom) meeting in March 2019, in Orlando, Florida, USA.

  • 2-page CV listing education, employment experience, honors/awards, leadership experience (especially professional societies) and a brief list of publications, patents, or other intellectual products (as appropriate).

  • Brief statement on the candidate’s prior achievements for the benefit of IEEE and IEEE Sensors Council. Explain the candidate’s strengths and how those will help in the candidate’s IEEE Sensors Council leadership position.
  • Candidate’s plans on using their office to strengthen the IEEE Sensors Council.
