The IEEE Sensors Council Young Professionals is a group of members and volunteers who have graduated from their first professional degree within the past 15 years. In Q3 and Q4 2020, the SC YP hosted several successful events. Read the event recaps below.
During the conference, YP organized virtual meetings included a welcome reception, technical sessions, and a coffee table with experts (held jointly with Sensors Council WiSe). The YP session co-chairs were Sten Vollebregt, Delft University of Technology and Saakshi Dhanekar, Indian Institute of Technology (Jodhpur), India.
The virtual YP reception allowed young professionals with technical and social networking opportunities. Attendees met many working colleagues in a variety of sensors fields and discussed future collaborations. The event was hosted by a professional MC and virtual games to engage the audience and build the attendees' networks. Excellent feedback was received from the participants. This was entirely financially supported by IEEE YP.
The Industry Academia Webinar Series was jointly organized by IEEE Sensors Council and IEEE Rajasthan Subsection was started in November 2020. The co-organizers for the webinar are Dr. Saakshi Dhanekar, IIT Jodhpur and Dr. Rana Mukherjee, ICFAI, Jaipur
This series is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of future technologists i.e. students and young faculty colleagues at a platform that would encourage the exchange and enhancement of ideas, perspectives, opportunities, and possibilities.
Aloknath De, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Samsung R&D India, Bangalore delivered a talk on “How does Deep-Tech Innovation bring Value to Society?”. Over 200 participants virtually attended. The event saw high engagement with discussions related to deep tech innovation, IoT systems, and current trends in the technology.
Anukram Mishra, Chief Technology Officer, Metering Solutions Division, Genus Power Infrastructure Ltd, Jaipur delivered a talk on “Emerging Possibilities in Smart Grid. The virtual webinar hosted ~60 participants. Collaborations between participants and the Institutes in Rajasthan were made possible due to this virtual event.
We look forward to more interactive webinars bringing in both Industry and Academia together in 2021!
