The WiSe Chapters Initiative is designed to promote the active participation and professional advancement of individuals in sensor-related fields across all Sensors Council Chapters worldwide. It welcomes professionals in sensing technology from both industry and academia.
This initiative creates opportunities to build local and global communities that encourage knowledge exchange, foster collaboration, and offer support through dynamic, interactive sessions focused on open dialogue and shared learning.
Call for Video Competition and form for video submission are available at this link: https://2025.ieee-biosensors.org/video-competition
Call for videos: We are seeking 3-minute videos from students around the world researching and studying Biosensors and Biosensing. The competition topic is Biosensors and biosensing for personalized healthcare.
Eligibility: Any student and young researcher, registered at the time of submission to a BSc, MSc, PhD programme or postdoctoral studies, anywhere in the world can submit. You do not need to be an IEEE member or registered for the IEEE BioSENSORS 2025 conference to enter this video competition. Entries are welcomed by both individuals and teams.
Details of the videos: videos can follow the model of the globally acclaimed 3 Minute Thesis. We welcome examples of how new technologies related to the design, development and testing of biosensors can be leveraged for improving personalized healthcare. Reflective examples of state-of-the-art, opportunities, and challenges, in the field of biosensing for targeted categories are particularly welcome and so are examples of best practices. Devices, systems or sub-systems, and data processing from biosensors for specific categories, such as women, children and patients with special needs, are welcome. We encourage entries presented creatively, including through the production of poems or visual artwork, exhibited through the video medium.
Key dates:
•Deadline for video submission: July 25th, 2025
•The winners will be announced in the Women in Sensors (WiSe) session to be held in San Diego on August 4th.
