The significant growth and infrastructural development worldwide have offered opportunities and raised challenges as well that churned global economy. There has been the realization that with appropriate use of technology and data-based informed decision making this rapid growth can be managed without negatively impacting human lives and environment. It goes undisputed that to this end, multiple types of sensors play a vital role. Sensors have become ubiquitous as our dependency on technology and technology driven facilities have increased exponentially. Application of sensors has become as important as developing sensors. The technical committee on Sensors in Practice will connect the community working with sensors and sensing techniques for making the world a better liveable place.
